Help The Aged Travel Insurance

Did you know that most travel insurance policies have an upper age limit, in fact only 1 in 20 policies have no age restrictions. This means for many people once they reach that age threshold they can find it very difficult to get insured to go on holiday.

There are over 9.6 million people who are aged 65 (help the aged, 2006) or over in the United Kingdom and this figure is set to grow. And as more of the baby boomer generation reach this age they are more likely to want to travel as they are generally more adventurous than the previous generation who tended to want to stay in the UK.

Over 65 travel insurance

One such charity that is trying to remedy this situation has started to provide help the aged travel insurance to provide specialist travel insurance for the older generation. There aim is to provide holiday cover with no upper age limit allowing people no matter how old they are to travel abroad.

Whilst the help the aged travel insurance policy promises to provide cover for people of any age it will only cover certain pre-existing conditions. Some conditions are covered and you should check at the time of application to check whether or not a condition you have is included.

The policy also covers many of the standard items that you would expect when taking out holiday insurance such as airline failure, medical expenses, medical assistance, delayed possessions, missed or delayed departure, loss, damage and theft.
